Winter weddings are increasingly popular, and brides choosing Down Hall can embrace this theme, creating ‘house party’ style and elegance for their big day, without breaking the bank.
Make an entrance as you descend the hotel’s sweeping staircase, graceful in a bias-cut gown accessorised with fur and diamante. Appreciate the simple luxuries of real log fires in the hotel’s reception areas and the glittering of real crystal chandeliers. The architecture of the hotel’s formal gardens, and panoramic views over open countryside, look stunning on a frosty cold winter’s day.
Special offers for weddings in January, February, March and Nov, Dec 2013, provide budget-friendly choices, with 15-20% discount off selected wedding packages, for example our ‘Winter Warmer package’, an inclusive package for up to 60 guests, is reduced from £8250 to just £6600 for weddings taking place in January 2013.

The Hotel
Down Hall is a privately owned country house hotel. The building dates back to the C14th in parts although the Italianate influence that defines the hotel’s current facade dates back to the C16th. Located in Hatfield Heath close to Bishop’s Stortford, the hotel is easily accessible from London and is on the borders of Essex and Hertfordshire. The 110 acres of formal gardens and grounds add to the country house experience and the privacy and seclusion of the venue.

20% reduction for Jan 2013 and 15% for the remaining months of Feb, Mar, Nov and Dec 2013, bring the price down to just £6600 and £7013, respectively.

Accommodation
The hotel’s 99 bedrooms are all individually designed to reflect the grandeur, elegance and character of the property. The Classic and Executive bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, whilst Feature Rooms benefit from luxurious two or four poster beds and views towards the landscaped gardens. Admission to this event is £5.00 per couple which includes a glass of fizz and canapés on arrival.
A fashion and entertainment show will be hosted on the evening.

Marquee going up
Since we have been blessed with Summer weather in March we have taken the opportunity to start putting the marquee up while we have a dry spell.
The floor system is looking fabulous and in place. The structure will go up from Monday.
The linings are at the cleaners so they are pristine when put up.
We will put heating in for the whole season this year, which will operate on a thermostat, and be there as a precaution in the event of cold nights early and late in the season.
We are also planning a new lighting rig for the marquee and more about this when it is installed.
We should be complete in about three weeks for brides who are planning to come to have a look when it is ready. Give me a ring if you want to arrange a visit.
